Five on Friday 3.16.07
I wasn't going to do this meme today but it's a food topic. And I work at a food place now.
Soup to Nuts
1. Are you a fan of soup? Yes.
2. What is your favorite kind of soup? I love chicken noodle. My mom makes awesome beef stew. And Mrs. Salt makes yummy veggie soup.
3. Are you a fan of nuts? Yes.
4. What is your favorite kind of nut or dish containing nuts? Peanut Butter Pie. I am at work, or I would post the recipe RIGHT NOW.
5. If you had to eliminate either soup or nuts from your diet for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Nuts.

here's a question: what's been your experience blending soups, like puree-ing them? i never had that kind of thing, growing up, but i've recently become a fan.
pumpkin is great that way. so is potato. and leek.

I have only blended soup once. It was a broccoli soup. My mom and I used the flowery tops to make a cheese rice broccoli casserole, and we simmered the stems to death, mixed in some milk, got it nice and hot, and used my immersion blender and it went like gangbusters. Then we threw in some cheese, salt, pepper, and onion powder and poof: deliciousness all for me. The Dude doesn't like broccoli. NOT EVEN with cheese.
